Ai Engineering s.r.l. plays the role of Environmental Coordination of all the works on the Italian territory of the Cross-Border Section of the New Turin-Lyon Freight and Passenger Railway Line under construction between Italy and France: 65 km from Val Susa to Maurienne, of which 57.5 km consist of the Mont Cenis base tunnel.
Activities include assisting the Client on all environmental issues related to the construction of the works. Added to this role is the Coordination of environmental monitoring activities and the related verification of outcomes. The framework of activities covers all environmental matrices: Atmosphere, Surface and Groundwater, Noise, Vibration, Asbestos, Ionizing Radiation, Vegetation and Flora, Fauna and Ecosystems, Soil and Landscape. The activity is aimed at constantly and punctually verifying the absence of environmental effects related to the construction of the work, preparing, where necessary, specialized studies and assessments on the individual components and liaising with competent environmental bodies at local and national level.
