The new Juventus Stadium stands on the site of the former “delle Alpi” stadium, can accommodate 41,000 spectators and was designed with the highest safety standards.

The “Juventus Stadium” project, completed in record time (2 years), was a great example of urban redevelopment in the city of Turin, which continued with the develop program of the adjacent “Cascina Continassa” area for the new Juventus Training Center.

The project involved the redevelopment of the entire underground part of the former “Stadio delle Alpi,” including the playing field area. Below the bleachers, service areas for the team and the public were built. In the upper part, with a light and essential appearance, rises the stadium, with the bleachers and the boxes: all included in a single semicircular profile and without any elements that deviate from the line of continuity. For the roofing of the bleachers, designed in a wind tunnel, inspiration was taken from the profile of airplane wings: a structure of great lightness, made of a partly transparent and partly opaque membrane, which allows an optimal view of the field, both day and night, and ensures the passage of sufficient light for the growth of the grass of the playing field.

The area dedicated to commercial spaces measures 34,000 square meters, on which a gallery of stores, a shopping center and a DIY store stand. In addition, 30,000 square meters of public green space, flower beds, plazas and parking spaces for 4,000 cars have been created. The urbanization of the area was completed with the construction of a new exit from the Turin ring road for direct access to the area.

The new Juventus facility is not only a futuristic work but also the world’s first eco-friendly and recycled stadium. The material-metallic structures (6,200,000 kg), crushed concrete (32,000 cubic meters), excavated soil (245,000 cubic meters) – the result of demolition, was recovered.
