Ai carries out integrated consultancy and highly specialized services in civil engineering for public and private clients.
Ai was founded in the first half of the 1970s, starting from a professional firm that has been operating since the 1930s, and is composed of two companies: Ai Studio, an Association of Professionals and Ai Engineering s.r.l., an Engineering Company.
At the beginning the activities were concentrated in the building sector, integrating the traditional disciplines related to construction with structures and MEP. Between the 1970s and 1980s, Ai played a leading role in the “boom” of residential construction. The introduction of industrialized construction systems that later became common use (“coffrage tunnel” and “banches et tables”) and the study of prefabrication systems for residential construction date back to those times, probably among the first in Italy.
The following decade, between the 1980s and the 1990s, saw the expansion of skills in the area of territorial infrastructure: transportation, hydraulics and, once again as pioneers at an Italian level, environmental impact.
In the new millennium, the various specializations were consolidated, with an ever-increasing focus on project management and engineering activities of the architectural concept, often in partnership with internationally renowned architects.
Having passed the milestone of 50 years of existence, the most recent history is represented by the challenge of tackling the design and construction of some of the most complex works at a national level, such as high-rise buildings and large-scale territorial infrastructure works, always maximizing attention to the overall sustainability of the interventions and the use of innovative tools.
